Judy Bumbarger DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Judy Bumbarger graduated from Georgia University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985, after attending undergraduate at UGA. She worked as an associate veterinarian in a large/small animal practice in Davie County until 1988. She returned to her native Catawba County to work at Catawba Animal Clinic, which was operated as a satellite hospital by another Hickory veterinarian. She purchased this business in 1989. In 1995 she merged this business with Conover Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Bumbarger's veterinary interests include internal medicine, dermatology, and pediatrics. When not working at CVH, she enjoys gardening, reading, and entertaining with family and friends. She lives in Alexander County with her husband Jack, whom she married in 1996, their son, Preston, and an ever changing 'herd' of dogs, cats, horses, ducks, geese and chickens!

Tina Whitted DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Tina Whitted graduated from Auburn University Veterinary College in 1985, after attending undergraduate school at Auburn. She worked at Catawba Animal Clinic in Newton, and then later worked as an associate veterinarian in Statesville, as well as a one year stint at the Spay/Neuter Clinic in Charlotte. She returned to Catawba County to work at Conover Veterinary Hospital in 1996. She has been married to her husband, Bob since 1989. Dr. Whitted's veterinary interests include surgery, feline medicine, and a special interest in exotic animals and avian medicine.

Sharon Monday DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Sharon Monday graduated from NC State in 1994 and has been practicing veterinary medicine for 25 years. Dr. Monday has been married to her husband, Gene, since 2001 and they have 3 beautiful daughters (Sarah, Macon and Rachel). Dr. Monday has 2 horses, 1 donkey, 2 dogs and 6 cats and enjoys hiking, cooking, quilting, weaving and reading in her spare time.

Regis Burkhardt DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Burkhardt was born in Mobile, Alabama. He spent a portion of his early childhood traveling the world and living in South Korea and the UAE. He then returned to Alabama where he spent most of his life. He moved to North Carolina in 2022. He earned a BS in Biology and a BA in English from the University of Mobile. He then earned a MS in Biology while teaching at the University of South Alabama, and he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Burkhardt has a Great Pyrenees, 3 cats, and a Red-Tailed Boa. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and being outdoors as much as possible.

Emily Rhoades DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Emily Rhoades is a native of Greensboro, NC, and attended Guilford College for her undergraduate degree and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville for her DVM. Following graduation, she served as an officer in the US Army Veterinary Corps, serving at the Daniel E. Holland Military Working Dog Veterinary Hospital, Shaw Air Force Base and Guantanamo Bay prior to leaving the service for civilian life. For The last 10 years, she has been in primarily emergency and critical care specialty hospitals, and comes to Conover Veterinary Hospital with a wealth of experience in surgery and advanced diagnostic procedures and care.
In her free time, Dr. Rhoades enjoys baking, spending time with her daughter and traveling.

Lisa Raby
Registered Veterinary Technician
Lisa has been employed with Conover Veterinary Hospital since 2014. When she isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with family on the family farm. She has 4 dogs (Peanut, Bell'e, Willow and Kallie). She has been married to her husband, Terry since 2002. In May of 2018, Lisa graduated from Gaston College with her degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys reading, riding ATV’s, hiking and visiting various waterfalls around the USA!

Brandy Heath
Veterinary Assistant
Brandy has been employed with Conover Veterinary Hospital since 2003. She has 2 cats (Leafa and Brownie) and a hound mix named Spencer. She has been married to Shawn since 2008 and they have 2 children (Carter and Cameron). Brandy is certified in Companion Laser Therapy and when she isn’t working, Brandy enjoys spending time with family or curling up with a good book.

Tracy Shepherd
Veterinary Assistant
Tracy has been employed with Conover Veterinary Hospital since 2005. She has 1 dog (Cabela), 1 guinea pig (Bubbles), 1 rabbit (Clover), 2 frogs and a freshwater fish tank. She has been married to her husband, Coyet since 2012. In her spare time, Tracy and Coyet love to hunt, fish, hike and go camping. Tracy has always had a heart for helping animals.

Chelsey Hughes
Veterinary Assistant
Chelsey interned at Conover Veterinary Hospital and was hired on in 2017. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School in 2017. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her husband, family, golden retriever "Benny", and friends.

Callie Inscoe
Veterinary Assistant
Callie has been with Conover Veterinary Hospital since February of 2022. Callie has always been interested in animals and she currently has 3 cats and 3 dogs. Her knowledge is endless and we are so happy to have her as a part of our team! In her spare time Callie enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.

Sharon Kennett
Veterinary Assistant
Sharon joined Conover in November, 2024. She enjoys spending time with her family and her horse.

Kari Brown
Kennel
Kari has been with Conover Veterinary Hospital since November of 2023. She has loved animals since she was young and volunteered at the Humane Society. Kari is thankful for the opportunity to bring her experience and passion to this team. She has a ball python named Cipher and also helps with family pets Cynder (cockatiel) and Jill (Boston Terrier). In her free time she enjoys reading, creative writing, gaming, and browsing the web.

Chris Harmon
Kennel
Chris joined Conover in January 2024. He shares his home with two Great Pyrenees and has a soft spot for all pets. When he’s not working, he enjoys riding his motorcycle. Chris describes himself as Grizzly Adams with Wi-Fi: "I live back in the woods, you see. No woman, no kids, just the dogs, cat, and me."
He believes all animals are a gift from God, and it is a true privilege for him to be able to work with them daily. When he's not working his land or playing in the creek with his dogs, he likes getting a little wind therapy on his Harley.

Angie Bracken
Office Manager
Angie has been with Conover Veterinary Hospital since 2010. She has been married to Glenn since 2008 and they have 3 sons and 3 grandchildren, who are the loves of her life! Angie has 2 dogs and a lot of chickens. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, cooking, baking and getting away to the beach when ever she can! Angie loves life and says she is more blessed then she deserves!!

Olivia Roberts
Receptionist
Olivia started with Conover Veterinary Hospital in August of 2021. She loves all animals and enjoys taking care of you and your babies while they are here. At home Olivia has dogs, chickens and goats. In her down time she enjoys fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Jake Brownfield
Receptionist
Jake has been employed with Conover Veterinary Hospital since February of 2023. He is currently in college for IT. At home Jake has 2 dogs and a cat. In his spare time he enjoys drawing, writing and playing video games. He loves ALL animals.
